Croatia - HIPP

Dorta Jagić graduated from the The Faculty of Philosophy of the Society of Jesus (FFDI) in Zagreb , Croatia. She writes and publishes poetry, short novels, drama and theatre reviews. She also translates from English and Germany into Croatian. Her poetry has been translated into English, German, Hungarian, Macedonian, Slovene, Polish and Roumanian languages. Since 1999, she has also engaged regularly in theatre direction and pedagogy working mostly within amateur based theatre practice. Her works have been published extensively in Croatia, and she has received several notable awards in acknowledgment of her poetic practice, and among these the following are highlighted: Goranovo Proljeće (1999.), The Balkan Grand Prize for Poetry (2007.), The European Poet of Freedom Literary Prize (2014).
